Alijó Pousada is located in the old village of Alijó, in the heart of the Douro Wine Region, among the famous "quintas"; small estates where the Port Wine vineyards grow in terraces. It is the perfect place to get to know the way in which the most famous wine in the world is produced. The proximity of the Douro River allows our guests to go on pleasant cruises and enjoy one of the most beautiful landscapes of the country.

All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children from 2 to 12 years are charged 15 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds. One older child or adult is charged 30 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed. If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, the first night will be charged. In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

By Car (from Porto on the highway A4):
- Heading towards Vila Real, take the IP4 towards Bragança Mirandela.
- 30 km later on the IP4, you will see signs to Vila Pouca de Aguiar Alijó. Leave the highway here.
- You will find a small town called Popúlo (Alijó is about 15 km from Popúlo), and there are signs to Alijó. The Pousada is in the centre of the town.
By Car (from Viseu on the A24):
- Drive until you reach Vila Real, where you catch the IP4 and follow the same roads as described before.
- Or, you can leave the A24 on the way to Peso da Régua then follow the signs to Pinhão and Alijó.
- On the way you will pass the river Douro, and the vineyards.
- It will take about 40 minutes to get from Peso da Régua to Alijó.
